Good Morning
Lent is important to Christians because it involves reflection, repentance, and spiritual renewal. Lent has become the most resonant and relevant practice in the Christian liturgical calendar. The Lenten season involves intentionally acknowledging and repenting of our messy brokenness and making a commitment to live a different way. Lent is synonymous with sacrifice, often manifesting through fasting or abstaining from certain pleasures.
During this period, Christians are encouraged to engage in self-examination because it's important to remember Lenten is not just about giving up some of our favorite things. Instead, it's an opportunity to make room for spiritual growth and transformation. We don't just pray to fight our sins; instead, we work to overcome them so we can pray to actively seek a closer connection with God. The Apostle Paul in Romans 8:6 said, "For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace"
During Lent, we're encouraged to face our fears and put our trust in God's plan for us. We should ask ourselves, are we letting fear control our actions, or are we bravely stepping forward in faith, trusting that God will take care of us? Our lives should be led by faith, not fear. When you let faith guide your initial thoughts, you gain the clarity to take your next steps with hope and purpose. We can always trust God to be who he says he is—and who he says we are to him.
Lent is a special time for us to reflect and grow spiritually. Lent gives us a chance to build up our faith and trust in God's plan, even when things seem uncertain or tough. By choosing faith over fear, we can tackle life's challenges with confidence and courage. Lent is not just a journey of preparation for our hearts. It’s a transformative journey that equips us to appreciate and celebrate the life and sacrifice of Jesus.
